Yes! The most anticipated last-minute tips are a tool which every IELTS aspirants seek for in order to improve their score. It is natural to get overwhelmed when the day approaches. If you are keen on giving your best shot, then forget the fear and read these tips. Hope these will help you achieve the desired band score.
Ensure the headphones are working properly
It is one of the most important things to reassure before the exam begins. If you have a problem in listening to the record clearly, inform the examiner immediately.
Mark the number of words in the instructions
As soon as you get your answer sheet, mark the number of words mentioned in the sheet. The instructions are bound to change rapidly; therefore, it is imperative to mark the number of words to answer the question in the instructions before attempting the questions.
For example: Answer the question in No More than Three words and/or a Number
Leverage the available time to read the questions
In sections 1, 2, and 3 the Listening is divided into 2 parts. You have about 20 seconds to prepare for listening part 1 and another 20 seconds to prepare for your second part. In addition to this, you are provided with 30 seconds to check your answers.
Notice the order of the question
Always, always notice the order of the questions in the question paper. It is because you will be listening to the recording in the order of the question presented to you. Practice this especially in the case of diagram labeling, tables, and flow chart questions.
Transfer the answer in the correct space
It is one of the most common mistakes that the students commit unknowingly. Transfer the answer in the correct space in the answer sheet. Though, it is natural to hurry up but keeps the calm while entering the answers. There is no use in losing the marks because of a hurry. For the paper-based listening examination, it is imperative to write the answer in the dedicated space. In the computer-based listening examination, you should write the answers simultaneously.
Highlight the keywords
Make this a habit. Always circle or underline the main keywords in the questions. It will help you find the answer quickly.
For example:

Focus on listening to the answer rather than understanding everything
When you have the keywords and the questions in hand, pay attention to the things important to you rather than understanding everything the record plays.

It is one of the most common mistakes that the students make while attempting the questions. Your negligence can decrease your score; therefore, pay attention to answer the question appropriately.
Check your answers
Before the final submission, always check the answers for the spelling and grammar structure.
