  • I am writing this concerning your letter, I am writing this letter to request information about, I would like to congratulate you, etc.   

In opposition to this, in informal letters, you can begin your sentence with opening lines –

  •  It was great to hear from you, I am writing to tell you, Sorry for not staying in touch with you for long, Thank you for writing to me, etc.

The closing sentence of a letter

Now, you need to be equally conscious about writing the closing sentence for the letter type.

Formal Letter : In case of a formal letter, you can end your letter with

  •  “I look forward to meeting you; I look forward to hearing from you at the earliest convenience, etc.”

Informal Lettern : In opposition to the formal letter, your closing sentence for informal letters can be

  •  “I can’t wait to meet you soon, hope to hear from you soon, looking forward to seeing you, etc.”
